What is it like when I'm obsessed with something? Does my thinking follow a pattern? Describe.
Answer: 

When I am obsessed with something, I can't function normally. I can't listen to other people talking. I can't be productive.

NA is not "drug and alcohol addiction"......Alcohol is a drug PERIOD. 

The steps between the two fellowships are different for a reason. 

"Alcohol is too limited of a term for us"...the "us" refers to addicts.

Thanks. I didn't mean to delute the message. I have been an NA member for years. I do understand that alcohol is a drug period. Where I come from, we couldn't attend NA meetings every day because there were no NA meetings every day. I went to AA and NA. I don't see any harm in doing so. I always like to remind myself that I am alcoholic and addict. But this is how I do it. . .

I loose focus on being productive, and all awareness of everything.
My.want for sobriety bebecomes secondary to my need to self medicate.

Thanks for sharing. I can relate to that even after years of being clean and sober. I am always looking for another addiction such as food, TV, work, computer, etc.

Thanks for the information. Truly, alcohol and drug addiction is bad to one’s health. But didn’t you know that marijuana is less harmful than a bottle of vodka, according to a new study? Some say that marijuana, being the so-called gateway drug, is potentially more harmful to society than alcohol is. However, because many heroin users — perhaps most — tried pot before going on to the hard stuff does not logically conclude that marijuana led to their using hard drugs.
